The Ministry of John Barr

John Barr was Director of Freedom Road Ministries from its inception in 1987 until the day he went to be with the Lord in January 2001.His prophetic ministry touched literally tens of thousands of lives. His call was to 'set captives free' according to Isaiah 61, and that's what he did - literally every day of his life. People would travel to see him from all over the world and, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, he would give them words of knowledge, prophecy and discernment that changed their lives for ever.

Under his ministry, victims of physical, mental and emotional pain found healing in Jesus' name. People who had been raped, abused, divorced, orphaned and rejected left him knowing peace, some for the first time in their lives. Those who had been involved in the occult found deliverance ,and those tormented by sickness frequently found healing.

Doctors, psychiatrists and counsellors would send their 'incurables' to see John - and they invariably went away from him knowing freedom and wholeness And his humility was such that he although he ministered to some of the country's leading businessmen, politicians, church leaders and celebrities, he rarely spoke about it. His prophetic words did not just change lives; they also transformed churches, communities, businesses and entire denominations. But the foundation of John's remarkable and unique ministry was not power, but love. People came to him who had been rejected by family, friends and churches. They came to confess the most terrible sins and crimes. And in him they found nothing but kindness, understanding and mercy. He was always available to ordinary people, no matter how big his ministry became. John's prophetic words, insights and teaching still live on, not just in the lives of countless people he prayed for, but in many the tapes and videos that he produced. I warmly commend them to you - but only if you are prepared to allow the radical power of the Holy Spirit to touch your life in a way that you may not have experienced before!
